Herb Shucher is Nashville born and raised. His music business training began at an early age under the direction of his father, Herb Shucher, Sr. – a prominent manager and businessman in the music community. As a child, Herb found his true home behind the drum kit and has been there ever since.
He has toured the world drumming with acts like Leon Russell, Edgar Winter, Bugs Henderson, Tracy Lawrence, Billy Joe Shaver, John Anderson, Pam Tillis, Randy Travis, Chris Knight, Mo Pitney, and many more. The Tonight Show, The Late Show, CMT Crossroads, CMT Cross Country, Monday Night Football and Austin City Limits, just to name a few, have all played host to Herb’s talents, appearing with several of the aforementioned artists as well as Josh Turner, Carrie Underwood, The Avett Brothers, and others. Most notably, Herb was a member of the Randy Travis band for 20 years. Influence Vol. 1 & 2: The Man I am, Randy’s latest record project, features Herb’s stylish grooves and solid time.
Herb’s second home, the recording studio, is a place where he wears many hats, often conducting sessions as drummer, engineer, producer and technical support. Whether he is laying down drums for an artist’s EP on Music Row, or doing it all in his very own Gas Money Studio, Herb will always deliver quality and creativity.
While keeping the beat is Herb’s main passion, he also has had much success leading the charge on the technical side of the stage as well, lending his stage managing and production skills to many network television specials, award shows, and live festivals including The Grammy’s, The CMA Awards, The ACM Awards, The CMT Awards, CMT Music Fest, CMT New Artist of the Year, and countless others. You never know what side of the curtain he will be on.
Several companies have also enlisted Herb’s knowledge as a product consultant and Artist Relations Representative in Nashville and throughout the USA. It is a great joy to him to help other artists obtain the tools they need to do their jobs well. Herb has facilitated the placement of guitars and amps on countless stages and TV shows around the world. SKB, PRS, Magnatone, Badcat, Ampeg, Alvarez, and Rainsong are a few companies Herb has worked with throughout the years.
